Remembering not to Forget

You know, for someone "with a good memory" it seems I do quite a bit of forgetting. Not so much day to day matters or items on my agenda, but the things that God does for me on any given day and at any given moment.

Thinking back on the day, and even yesterday for that matter, I realize how much I miss...or you could say, "forget to catch". He is constantly there with me and for me, showing His love through grace and showering down His blessings with generosity...while all I think about is what I have to do for myself or worry about the bills that are due (or past due.) A similar situation would look like this: I have my mind on random things while I am at work trying to work and all of the sudden I walk by Michael Jordan (all 6'6" of him) with a signed basketball in his hand (palmed of course) outstretched to my face and I go about "seeing" nothing - Later I realize what happened and am devastated by what I missed. What is that? How does that happen? That doesn't happen. Yet I do it daily with God.....GOD!

Just to think how much life would be awe-inspiring if I focused on the eternal instead of the worldly. It sometimes is hard to remember even though we are constantly reminded. Oh how we do not see. But it is a daily task, this remembering. Yes, I know He is there, but to remember to notice Him I often overlook. I pray that God will remove the shroud from my mind's eye.
You ARE there.
Lord, help me remember not to forget.
